On that winter night

Fukui, one night, in 2007

I've just finished my translating paper and prepared to leave. It was around 8 pm, I was alone in lab. other students had left earlier than me. I took my ransel and walked down-stairs. Oh yes, my lab is on third floor. I met a campus security with light-stick on his hand and I just bowed a little. I wore my scarf cover my mouth and nose since it was very cold lately in January. I tried to walk faster so I could get home, get some hot-soup, warm blanket. Ugh. I kept walking. I could'nt ride my bike because snow was getting thick and the gear got slip away. It's dangerous to ride bike in such condition. That is why many people left their bike in serious winter.

When I almost got home before the last turn, I saw her! Again, tonight. Her? Yep. Last night and also other nights before she always come to this place and so does tonight. She came and feed the cat... what a kind woman. Even in this kind of weather,in such cold night, when everyone prefer to stay in their house and enjoy the warmness from the heater, she came by and feeding the cat. For tha sake of the cat. Masya Allah. I felt ashame for myself.

(to be continued)
